Who are we? 

We have years of experience in the Sailing industry.  Can assist you in customizing your boat from the cabin layout to custom interior fabrics.  We can help you choose among the many options available to find a boat which fulfils your sailing desires without having a cluttered deck.  We assist and instruct you in the initial assembly of your boat and can recommend great places to cruise with your boat as well as teach you the "go fast tricks."  Who are we:

David: founded and operated Sport Trends a business which has sold windsurfing and sailing gear as well as taught windsurfing.  He is chairman of American Youth Foundation which runs several sailing programs as well as various other outdoor programs.  He has more than thirty years of experience in sailing.  Has worked with composite materials and fiberglass repairs.    David has a degree in engineering as well as extensive experience in that field.  He cruises on a Corsair 31 with a family of 6.  His youngest son Alex (8) can steer a stable fast course on an Corsair 31 in following seas.  David Danforth    St. Louis, MO     david@trisailing.com    (314)409-0610

Frederick: has 25 years of experience in the sailing industry.  Has worked for several Sail companies including Freedom, Neil Pryde and Gaastra.  He has competed in multi-hull as well as various mono-hull boats in North America and Europe.  Frederick taught sailing for The University of Chicago and the University of Illinois.  He coached Northwestern University's windsurfing team.  Has won regional as well as North American championships.  While in college he spent summers doing repairs, rigging and modifying sailboats in the Chicago area.  Has been involved in the design and development of various watercraft including kayaks, sailboats and windsurfing boards.  Worked for high end composite companies in the sailing industry.  Frederick studied design and economics in college.  Frederick Hartray    Chicago, IL     frederick@trisailing.com    (773)528-3740

Tina: has worked for Knoll Fabrics for the last 12 years and has consulted with Architects to provide some of America's finest companies with signature spaces that  inspire clients confidence.  Whether you want to use your boat to entertain critical clients or just want to decorate the interior to convince a significant other that this isn't just a high speed adrenalin pumping fun machine Tina's extensive expertise can assist you in finding fabrics that not only enhance the luxurious look of your Corsair but will wear well.

Jack:  Designed and built kayaks as a youth on Chicago's North Shore before going on to designing buildings in the Chicago area.  Has sailed on several Mackinac races.  Jack has taught design at the Illinois Institute of Technology and the University of Illinois.  His combination of design and sailing experience  assists us in suggesting custom cabin layouts.

Alexander:  Has sailed for over 30 years.  Studied design at Washington University and Harvard's Graduate School of Design.  He competed in windsurfing and taught windsurfing and skiing for Viking Ski Shop.  Besides being knowledgeable in sailing Alexander can give you advice on cabin layouts on boats you are buying or building.
